Guarantee issue refers to the amount of voluntary life coverage permitted without additional medical underwriting. Guardian allows employees and their dependents to qualify for coverage up to the following guaranteed-issue (GI) limits without completing what is known as Evidence of Insurability (EOI) or a health questionnaire.

Guarantee-Issue amounts are as follows:

Employee      $100,000

Spouse          $25,000

Child(ren)      $10,000

Typically, guaranteed-issue coverage is only available once. Either during the initial enrollment of the benefits offered by a carrier or to a new hire. Additional underwriting may be required if coverage is waived during this initial period or requested to be increased at a future enrollment.
